Describes the event of a patient consuming or otherwise being administered a medication. This may be as simple as swallowing a tablet or it may be a long running infusion. See the HL7 FHIR R4 spec for full details. Previous version: medication_administration Tables in this resource: Reference Table: The medicationadministration_references table contains normalized references from the medication administration to other entities. It supports the following reference properties:
  • medication_reference (required): links to the medication that was administered
  • subject (required): links to the patient who received the medication
  • performer.actor: links to practitioners who performed the administration
  • reasonReference: links to condition or other clinical resource per reference_type
